My work considers the cultural and literary associations of various mobilities, ranging from; road trips, Sci-fi voyages, the European Route of Industrial Heritage (ERIH), pilgrimage, lunar exploration and mobilities of emergency, distance proximity and time travel. I often aim to re-configure these narratives to include, feminist and 'other' itinerant practices - and have interest in offering counter positions to colonial and male-centric travel cultures through learning from feminist Science Fiction and dystopian narratives.
My practice is interdisciplinary in nature, I have particular interest in customising and combining obsolescent and new systems, and work across a range of analogue and digital visual technologies. My work includes; drawing, print, video, analogue photography, digital map making (see S Project) collecting things, performance writing and curating.
I have exhibited my work internationally from the Norwegian Arctic to the world’s major cities and teach Fine Art and theory in various capacities. I am the founder of an international arts program called The Arts Territory Exchange.
Further interests include; theories of collaboration and friendship (particularly in the work of Emmanuel levinas). Ecology (particularly digital and feminist) ideas of the microscopic and telescopic in Proust's writing, language theory and the filmic work of Andrei Tarkovky, nuclear visual cultures and what we can learn from Zombies.
